4-25-06 & Essays In Pop
Tuesday, April 25th, 2006Thanks to everyone for coming out to Cafe Mattino last weekend … the show was really well-attended & some great pieces were sold, & the quality of the work was encouraging.
It was also the release of our new CD Essays In Pop. Skip over to the multimedia page to hear some of the new songs. For the cover art, I went over to Kathleen Wyllie’s house & looked at a bunch of her pieces & picked out some favorites. It was a treat to see more than 3 decades of diverse & engaging work. Kathleen’s been a mentor to me for a decade & I’m grateful to her for use of the artwork & proud to have it on our CD. Some of her work is at Cafe Mattino if you want to see more. I just got confirmation that our new disc 10 Radio Singles & a Murder Ballad is in the mail, so we’ll have it at Truman State’s Squirrelfest this weekend & at Vintage Vinyl next week.
We’ve also been scheduling recording sessions for this summer to track songs for the next record. We may re-record some out-of-print tunes from Cd-Rs, but the new tunes include:
- Soft Rock Radio
- Clear As a Bell
- In a Time of Halogen
- To Be My Love
- Two Things
- The Picture My Father Carries
- Born That Day
- The Cold of Winter
We’re pleased with the new tunes & we’ll be playing some of them at all our upcoming shows.
